  • The first room is music, either live DJ, rock and jazz, the second is billiards, beer and big screen TV. The whole is convivial.

  • Pronounced “Lef”, this is one of the friendliest places for a drink and a bite to eat on the Vieux Nice nighttime circuit. A year-round venue – the terrace is heated in winter.

  • Sip your drinks slowly on this deeply fashionable hotel terrace which attracts the crème de la crème of the film business during the International Film Festival. A glass of bubbly here costs as much as a meal in many other spots.

  • No techno here in the bar of the city’s palatial hotel (see Le Negresco, Nice). Just the tinkling of ivories amid wood panelling and deep armchairs, which give the place the pleasingly languorous air of a gentleman’s club.

  • Restaurant, café and disco, owned by film stars, comes into its own during the Film Festival but is a hot spot year round and is easy to get into.

  • Irish bars are terribly fashionable with the French – and this one is no exception. Live Irish music and a lively atmosphere add to the attraction.

  • Currently the most popular disco and restaurant in Monaco, with transatlantic tastes in food, drink and music and a young, wealthy clientele.

  • The jazz ‘n’ rock rendezvous is the best nightspot in town. As well as music (both disco and live), it lays on art exhibitions and internet connections.

  • The seaside terrace of this replica of an ancient Greek villa, overlooking the Mediterranean and surrounded by pine-clad hills, is one of the most pleasant places to eat and drink along the coast (see Villa Kerylos, Beaulieu-sur-Mer).

  • Home-from-home for English people in this pub in Vieux Nice. Good beer, pub food, live music, table dancing and a terrace.
