  • 1. Château de la Chèvre d’Or, Eze

    The wonderful Chèvre d’Or perches high above the sea, looking out over clifftop battlements in this beautifully preserved castle-village. Rooms all have a panoramic views and each one is elegantly decorated with antiques. The hotel has three fine restaurants (see Chèvre d’Or, Eze) and two breathtakingly pretty pools.

  • 2. Château de la Messardière, St-Tropez

    On the outskirts of the village, this seaside palace has its own private beach and a swimming pool and is certainly among the nicest places to stay on this fashionable part of the coast.

  • 3. Château du Domaine St-Martin, Vence

    This palatial hotel in manicured grounds standing on a hilltop site with views of the medieval village and the countryside is one of the most impressive places to stay in Provence. Superb service and excellent food.

  • 4. Château des Alpilles, St-Rémy

    Built in the 19th century, this chateau belonged to a prominent Arles family. Service standards and cuisine rate highly, and the rooms in the castle, the former chapel and adjoining converted farmhouses are very comfortable.
