The Roman Forum was the political and economical centre of Ancient Rome but by the end of the 4th Century it was reduced to a monumental area.
The Forum is located in a valley between the Capitoline Hill on the west, the Palatine Hill on the south, the Velia on the east and Quirinal Hill and the Esquiline Hill to the north.
It is so very worth a visit. It will make you feel as though you have gone back in time! I could almost hear Frankie Howard saying 'A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum .........' (Titter ye not!)
