Rome

Although functioning as a vibrant, modern capital akin to any in Europe, the unique appeal of Rome is that the entire city is a vast, 3,000-year-old, indoor-outdoor museum. In every quarter you’ll find ancient monuments, art treasures and timeless architecture in churches, galleries and protected ruins. Home to the world’s smallest city, the Vatican, Rome has religion at its heart and history in its soul – a city that dazzles and inspires visitors time and time again.

  • Al boschetto

Al boschetto is situated in the centre of Rome near the Via Nazionale shopping street. It's a typical italian restaurant with an inside garden runned by a family. Their specialties are the famous "porcini" mushrooms and fresh fish plates and delicious home made desserts.

  • ANTICA CARTOTECNICA

This shop is situated in the historic center of Rome in the famous Piazza dei Caprettari between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. They offer an elegant variety of antique and modern pens, leather bags, planners, address books, writing tools, desk accessories, pencils, fine stationery and greeting cards, antique stationery items (notepads, notebooks from the 40s, bakelite objects, watercolor pencils), typewriters dating back to the 1940s. It offers many brands: Mont-Blanc, Omas, Caran d’Ache, Aurora, Filofax,Delta, Montegrappa, Faber Castell, Officina 365 and Lalò. They also feature numerous unique antique pieces created with that special touch so rarely found in modern design. Antica Cartotecnica, which has celebrated its 75th anniversary, offers the highest level of customer service, as well as pen repair, printing services for business cards and invitations, special leatherworks and customized gifts.

  • I have just returned from my first visit to Rome and found it absolutely beautiful but terribly expensive. Food, as so often in big cities, was disappointing. Easily the most memorable meal was lunch 'on the move' at a small market stall counter down a back street off the Via del Corso. Pizza slices cut with scissors (!) to the exact size you want. Wafer-thin crispy crust, yummy choice of toppings, standing up and eating with the Romans - for less than 2 euros!!

I stayed at this amazing little B&B in Rome last year. There are now two sites in the city, I stayed in the one just five minutes from the Vatican. From the outside and communal areas it looks like any large Italian apartment building with a central well and old fashioned lift. Once you step through the front door however, you enter a world of minimalist calm very unlike the average B&B. This is like staying in a hotel but without the steep prices. Clean, bright, comfortable rooms with smart bathrooms made a relaxing break from the traffic noise and tourists. An absolutely huge breakfast sets you up for the day and prepares you for the long queue to get into the Vatican. Thoroughly recommended.

  • These apartments are situated in a quiet street which has the Vatican at one end and Castell Sant Angelo at the other - each only minutes' walk away! The apartments are spotlessly clean and simply furnished, and are very spacious. Basic kitchen facilities mean that it is possible to go self-catering (there is a supermarket at the end of the road), but the apartments are off a street which has a number of good restaurants, frequented by locals and tourists alike. The reception is staffed for limited hours during the day, but the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English.

  • This is the cafe of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, on the edge of the Borghese Gardens. The cafe has a very pleasant interior and a wonderful terrace. It serves good Italian food in a very civilized setting, patronised heavily by Italians rather than tourists.

  • Casale dei Cedri Resort

Casale dei Cedri is a19th century villa near Saint Peter’s Basilica and Villa Pamphili.

It has a private park of 30.000 square meters with a beautiful Italian garden and a swimming pool. The resort has the comfort of a house with all the facilities of a hotel, for who wants an exclusive journey in Rome.

At the first floor we provide 3 bedrooms, each one with a different personality.

Please note that there is no lift to first floor.
