Scotland

Scotland has an overwhelming abundance of natural beauty, hundreds of castles stand proud from its long and turbulent past, and an innate flair for enterprise and travel has endowed the nation with artistic treasures from around the world. The culture remains vibrant today, and there’s much to celebrate. Here’s a distillation of Scotland’s best.

  • The lodges are designed to offer luxury holiday. They sleep from 1 to 6 people and are set in a little clearing in a forest, you get access to leisure facilities at a nearby leisure club and you also get access to fort william golf club. With being set in a forest there is lots of wildlife to see but you also have a verandah to sit out on it is fantastic.

  • Castle Lachlan is a family Scottish baronial house set in an estate of 1500 acres situated on the shores of Loch Fyne. The castle dates from the 18th century and is the clan seat of the MacLachlans one of the oldest highland clans.

  • Fabulous family leisure resort offering hotel and self catering accommodation, up to 5* standard (they even let your dog stay in 5 * units, so a real family affair!) Huge range of indoor and outdoor activities to suit all ages and is great for those big family get togethers.

Set in Perthshire which is also a wonderful place to go and explore.

  • Cruise is a Glasgow institution, this stylish retailer has all the latest designer fashions for both men and women. whether it is clothes, shoes or handbags Cruise has it all.

Additionally there is a Cruise Jeans store in Ingram Street in Glasgow and Edinburgh also has a branch.

  • In a tiny little fishing village on the Moray Firth, the fleet were famed for their haddock catches, and the local folk smoked it to perfection. This village is called Cullen, and the soup made with this smoked haddock is called Cullen Skink. It is utterly delicious, but the ladies in the cafe also run non stop workshops for local crafts, (knitting, patchwork etc) they help out in the schools, and are the centre of a fantastic community . It is a delight to meet them.

  • Old fishing village, famous for smoking haddock, and making traditional Scottish soup - Cullen Skink - with the smoked haddock- delicious! Also see Telford's bridges, and in a wee shop, along with the most wonderful home cooked cakes and snacks, (as well as Cullen Skink, ) you can find hand made patchwork everything, and a host of other crafts, all made locally, and taught with such enthusiasm to the local schools and at classes within the shop, which you will find on the High Street, well down to the sea.

  • Beautiful, old castle. Decor is classic. Castle is rumoured to be haunted & has a unique mysterious feel about it. Try the Library bar for a dated but distibguished night cap. The food was excellent & spa & luxury / health facilities were even more special in that setting. About 10 - 15 drive from central Edinburgh.

  • Simply the best vegetarian food in the city. This is no hippy hangout, it's modern, stylish and has a great wine list. I've taken meat eaters there too, and never had any complaints - what more can I say?

  • A Stylish jewellery store in Princes Square. This intimate store has a great selection of jewellery ranges by a variety of designers including the Dower & Hall range. Great for that special something!

  • Chinese & Asian fusion cooking, a great blend of East and West. Good menu choices and quirky cocktails. Positioned across from the Theatre Royal a fab pre or post theatre pitstop.
