  • 1. Manly Cove

    The ferry wharf houses boutiques and cafés, the Visitor Information Centre (see Manly), Manly Boat and Kayak Hire, Oceanworld and the Manly Art Gallery and Museum.

  • 2. Oceanworld

    Snakes. Crocodiles. Sharks. Whatever terrifies you, you’ll find it here. There are several live shows, and your pass allows you multiple entries until closing.

  • 3. The Corso

    This lively pedestrian avenue runs from The Esplanade to Manly Beach. The Manly Deli is a good place to stock up for a picnic lunch.

  • 4. New Brighton Hotel

    Built in 1926, this Egyptian Classical Revival Style pub on The Corso is a popular summer watering hole.

  • 5. Manly Beach

    Backed by a reserve lined with Norfolk Island pines and a busy esplanade, this ocean beach (see Manly) is a Sydney favourite. There are rock baths at the northern end.

  • 6. Cabbage Tree Bay

    A lovely bay that features shallow crystal waters, wind-sculpted sandstone cliffs, the magical Fairy Bower rockpool and protected Shelly Beach.

  • 7. Former St Patrick’s Seminary

    A prominent 1885 seminary for Catholic priests was the setting forThomas Keneally’s novel Three Cheers for the Paraclete . It is now a college of hospitality and tourism.

  • 8. North Head

    This windswept, heath-covered highlight of the Sydney Harbour National Park is home to the North Fort Artillery Museum.

  • 9. Old Quarantine Station

    Until 1984, Sydney’s infected arrivals were quarantined at this bulwark against infectious diseases. The NPWS runs tours.

  • 10. Collins Beach

    The site where Governor Phillip was speared in 1788 is a peaceful spot nowadays (see Collins Beach). Steps lead to a secluded rock diving platform.
