  • 1. Telstra Stadium

    Sydney’s largest stadium was designed as the centerpiece of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Millions tuned in to watch this venue’s opening and closing ceremonies and athletics events. The stadium seats over 80,000 and hosts Australian Rules football, Rugby League and Union, soccer and cricket.

  • 2. Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre

    Australia prides itself on its competitive swimmers, and the Aquatic Centre is a testament to this national obsession. The centre includes a water park and the main competition pool, which accommodates short and long course swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming and underwater hockey. A sauna, steam room, river rapid ride, spray jets, bubble beach, five spas, spurting volcanoes and water slides will keep the whole family happy.

  • 3. Sydney International Tennis Centre

    Built on an old horse stud-farm, this complex was designed in consultation with former Australian tennis pro John Newcombe and the creators of Wimbledon’s Court 1. It features a centrepiece circular centre court with shade cover, two show courts, seven match courts and six practice courts, all surfaced with Rebound Ace. Special loops aid those with hearing impairments.

  • 4. Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre

    The unique grandstand roof of this centre is suspended from a single mast, giving the 4,000 spectators an uninterrupted view of the entire pitch. The world-class venue is home to NSW state hockey, and also plays host to gridiron, touch football, Oz tag and lacrosse.

  • 5. Royal Randwick Racecourse

    First established in 1833 as “Sandy Course”, it became known as Royal Randwick in 1992. The racecourse is a lush green surface surrounded by charming old stands. Autumn and Spring Racing Carnivals attract large crowds to watch Australia’s top horses in action.

  • 6. Showgrounds Exhibition Building

    From Royal Easter Shows to international baseball games and rock concerts, this site has host-ed them all. The Showground features a main arena, a Clydesdale pavilion inspired by the architecture of 18th- and 19th-century English churches, an open-air woodchop stadium and numerous pavilions.

  • 7. Superdome

    Seating 21,000 people, the Superdome is the largest indoor entertainment and sporting arena in Australia. One of the major venues for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the venue hosted the basketball finals, artistic gymnastics, trampoline and wheelchair basketball.

  • 8. Sydney Cricket Ground

    This area was granted to the British Army in 1851. In 1870 Rugby Union was first played here. Today, the hallowed turf hosts cricket in the summer, Australian Rules football in the winter, and various sports and concerts in between.

  • 9. Aussie Stadium

    Home of the South Sydney Rabbitohs RLC, the Sydney Roosters RLC and the NSW Waratahs, Aussie Stadium, the former Sydney Football Stadium, is adjacent to the Sydney Cricket Ground. The venue is now used for soccer, Rugby League and Union.

  • 10. Sydney Entertainment Centre

    Known to fans of the Sydney Kings basketball team as “the Kingdome”, this is the large home venue for a team who ride a wave of popular local support. The centre also hosts concerts and shows, often presenting some of the biggest names in entertainment.
