  • Agriturismo Castagnatello

Beautiful recently restored historic farmhouse with swimming pool in middle of Tuscan countryside. Amazing view of nearby hilltop village. Seven independent apartments. Lots of wonderful local eating: olive oil, wine, cheese, etc all produced locally. Lots to do for those who want nature (its on the slopes of Monte Amiata with national nature parks) or culture (every Tuscan town has something beautiful!)

  • Casa Portagioia

Casa Portagioia is an elegant yet relaxed country retreat near the towns of Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino– somewhere between a country hotel and your best friend’s home. It is a place where you can relax, take time to reflect on your travels and to be energized and enthused in to seeing more of the wonderful places Tuscany (and Umbria) have to offer.

Casa Portagioia offers 5 independent guest bedrooms and 2 suite apartments, all with luxury bathrooms. (Four of the bedrooms and both apartments benefit from air-conditioning). Their accommodations are fresh and inviting. For a Tuscan country B&B you’ll find everything ‘just so’ from the comfortable orthopaedic beds to the modern bright bathrooms to the lovely views of the gardens and surrounding Tuscan hillside.

You might also be at Casa Portagioia for one of their dinner parties. During the summer these take place on one of our terraces overlooking the bucolic splendour of the valley. A five-course feast is served – and you might like to try some of Tuscany’s finest and award winning wines from our cellar.

The focal points of Casa Portagioia are the spectacular pool with its panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside and Casa Portagioia’s gardens. The Cyprus lined drive, the lavender, roses, rosemary and ginistra mingle with terracotta pots bursting with summer colours and fragrances.

  • This hotel has a roof top terrace where you can sit and have a glass of wine whilst admiring the wonderful view of Florence and the Duomo.

  • A lovely hotel just a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Florence. An inconspicuous archway leads up to this hotel - an oasis of calm after a long day taking in everything Florence has to offer.

The staff are always on hand to book tickets, taxis, days out and recommend and book restaurants - in fact, we ate the most delicious food thanks to the recommendations.

At 6pm every night, there's a 'happy hour'. Not a bar filled with beer-swilling tourists though! Prosecco or chianti is on offer with a few nibbles - the perfect start to your evening.

  • A pretty Hotel in large grounds situated only 10 minutes walk from the walled centre of the town. Despite its proximity it is very quiet and has a high level of service for a very reasonable price.

  • Hotel Santa Croce in Fossabanda

This hotel and conference centre in Pisa is a former monastery. Full of history, the original monks’ cells are now comfortable bedrooms with ensuite facilities. The shuttered windows overlook a beautiful colonnaded 13th century courtyard. A place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

  • This hotel is in close-to-Florence Impruneta, a small village that has regular bus service to and from Florence. I believe the hotel was originally a villa, and still has beautiful and serene grounds, but numerous modern rooms have been added, as well as meeting facilities. The restaurant is also very good, and the staff at both hotel and restaurant are very accommodating and helpful.

  • Quiet with an old-world feeling, this hotel nonetheless has all the modern facilities to make you comfortable, a very pleasant restaurant, and friendly and helpful staff.

  • This is a wonderful old castle type building set amongst vines. The host & hostess are only interested in the welfare of their guests. It is shown in the Logis d'Italia.
