  • Are these details incorrect?
  • 1. Trattoria Busa alla Torre, Da Lele

Dine inside under timber rafters or outside in the square. Start with soft-shelled moleche (crab) or ravioli filled with fish, but leave room for the nougat pastries. Open for lunch only.

  • 2. Panificio Giovanni Marcato

Delicious slices of pizza smothered with tomato and olives, and bussolà forte , a molasses shortbread with candied fruit and chocolate.

  • 3. Osteria La Perla Ai Bisatei

Home-style cooking at reasonable prices. The fritto misto seafood is superb. Open for lunch only.

  • 4. Trattoria Valmarana

Stylish eating on a waterside terrace near the Glass Museum (see Museo dell’Arte Vetrario). Try rombo al forno con patate e olive (baked flounder with potatoes and olives).

  • 5. Trattoria Al Corallo

A popular, chaotic trattoria. Dine on fresh fish by the canal. Open for lunch only.

  • 6. Trattoria ai Cacciatori

Cheaper and quieter than neighbouring Burano, here you can savour potato dumplings with crab and, in autumn, local game.

  • 7. Antica Trattoria alla Maddalena

Renowned for its spring artichokes and roast duck, this laid-back trattoria also serves a light, local white wine. Lunch and early dinner only.

  • 8. Al Gatto Nero

Wonderful al fresco fish restaurant, surrounded by Burano’s colourful houses.

  • 9. Locanda Cipriani

Meals in this historic establishment are served on the terrace. The house speciality is filetto di San Pietro Carlina (baked John Dory with tomato and capers).

  • 10. Ca’ Vignotto

Book in advance to eat at this rambling farmhouse turned trattoria. Dishes include dumplings with crab and artichokes or asparagus lasagne.
