Servitenstüberl

A friendly family-run business with Viennese specialities. It is located next to Servitenkirche (see p99) and has pleasant seating on the square overlooking the church in summer.
Stadtbeisl Inigo

Viennese and international cuisine. Wine list changes every other month.
Steirereck

With its fabulous service, culinary artistry and opulent location, the Steirereck is arguably the best restaurant in the city. Its menus exhibit stunning flair and have both regional and international influences. Specialities include sturgeon fillets in pepper sauce with crispy olives. In the restaurant’s cellar around 25,000 bottles of Austrian and international wines wait to be tasted.
S’Landsknecht

Another traditional Viennese restaurant that serves hearty national and international dishes.
Terrassenrestaurant Palais Schwarzenberg

A meal here is a grand experience in the Baroque setting of a 400-year-old palace. Live piano music from 7pm onwards.
Theatercafé

Austrian cuisine with Asian and Italian influences. It is usually crowded after performances at the Theater an der Wien next door.
Tunnel

International food with a large number of Oriental dishes. In the cellar there is live music daily.
Universitätsbräu

In the former pharmacy of the 18th-century hospital enjoy simple but tasty dishes.
Vegie

A small vegetarian restaurant opposite the Theater an der Wien. It serves various soups and a wide range of wok-based dishes.
Verlängerter

This is the “lengthened” variety of a Brauner , weakened slightly with hot water and served with milk instead of cream.
