Running downhill from Centerline Road to North Shore Road near Cinnamon Bay Campground (seeCinnamon Bay Campground, St. John), this 1.1-mile (1.7-km) trail offers superb views.

Signs describing the flora, fauna, and historical features mark this half-mile (1-km) loop trail. It starts and ends at the sugar factory ruins near Cinnamon Bay Campground.

Book a day sail to an offshore cay at your hotel or through Connections or Adventures in Paradise in Cruz Bay.

Charter boats leave from the Cruz Bay waterfront on fishing trips to North or South Drops. Captain Byron Oliver also offers trips closer to St. John.

There are hiking trails all over the island. Some are easy treks over flat terrain, but others head uphill.

Carolina Corral, located just outside Coral Bay, runs one-hour trips along quiet lanes and pebbly beaches. Rides leave from Route 107 across from the restaurant Time for a Break.

Rent a kayak from hotels. Arawak Expeditions at Low Key Watersports in Cruz Bay does day trips and overnight sojourns. Crabby’s Watersports in Coral Bay drop you off so you can paddle back to their base.
