  • 1. Divi Carina Bay Casino, St. Croix

While you can spend hours at the gaming tables in the Divi, the only casino in the USVI, it is also one of the hottest nightspots around with live music almost every night. The casino stays open until at least 4am all week.

  • 2. Moonraker Bar, St. Croix

Open Wednesday to Saturday, this Christiansted nightspot brings in a youthful crowd on Saturdays when DJs spin great dance music. Saturday is also ladies night, with a discount on drinks for women. On Wednesdays, the crowd enjoys karaoke. Moonraker is open until 2am all nights.

  • 3. Duffy’s Love Shack, St. John

The island’s younger folks gather in droves at this popular nightspot, where the music is very loud, the drinks come with names such as Jaws, and the decor is straight out of the jungle. The late night Little Bites menu offers delicious munchies such as a lava bowl of guacamole.

  • 4. Woody’s Seafood Saloon, St. John

The crowd that frequents this tiny bar and restaurant for late afternoon happy hours often overflows onto the sidewalk. It’s a hot spot for sailors, drawn by cheap beers and the convivial ambience both inside and out.

  • 5. Fred’s Bar & Restaurant, St. John

Fred’s brings out black and white residents, and visitors of all ethnic origins, no matter what their age, to dance away the night to reggae and other sounds. The place doesn’t look like much, but it can get hopping on Wednesday and Friday nights.

  • 6. Duffy’s Love Shack, St. Thomas

Sitting in the parking lot of a shopping center, this hot spot shakes, rattles, and rolls till the wee hours. Drinks sport whimsical names such as Revenge of Godzilla. Like its sister spot in St. John, St. Thomas’ Duffy’s too has an interesting Little Bites menu.

  • 7. The Greenhouse, St. Thomas

The island’s youthful crowd congregates here for live or DJ rock and other kinds of music. It’s the place to mix and mingle as well as a big sailor hangout. The Greenhouse starts to heat up when the sun goes down, but by day it is a busy family restaurant.

  • 8. Hard Rock Café, St. Thomas

Like its fellow Hard Rock Cafés around the world, the St. Thomas one has blaring music and sports videos at all hours. Popular with cruise ship tourists who come during the day to sample the extensive lunch menu, the place also attracts locals and hotel guests who like its late night rocking ambience.

  • 9. Bomba Shack, Tortola

As its name suggests, this sizzling spot is just a collection of ramshackle boards on the beach. Bomba’s legendary full moon parties are not to be missed if you like huge crowds and don’t mind the sale of, shall we say, less-than-legal substances that happens nearby.

  • 10. Foxy’s, Jost Van Dyke

Yachties of all ages gather to hear the famous Foxy Callwood play calypso and more on his guitar, as well as music by local bands. A big party spot, this open-air bar is famous for hosting various regattas (seeFoxy’s Wooden Boat Regatta, Jost Van Dyke). If you arrive early, enjoy a lobster dinner (seeFoxy’s, Jost Van Dyke).
