  • A European-style small hotel, with 27 rooms. The hotel spreads over three 100-year-old townhouses. Convenient to Adams Morgan and the Zoo. Many rooms share a bath but have a sink in the room.

  • Hosted by Aiko Ichimura, this captivating B&B is warmly furnished with Japanese influences. Breakfast is an occasion. TV/VCR provided.

  • A booking agency specializing in B&Bs in and around the city. It lists some of the most attractive properties. Staff personally inspect guesthouses on a regular basis.

  • Convenient to the Capitol with good business services. The meeting facilities are small but well maintained.

  • This is a good downtown version of the motel chain, small and relatively quiet, given its popularity with families. The lobby has a working fireplace. All rooms are suites with a separate sitting area and kitchenette. Continental breakfast is included.

  • This charming old building, about six blocks from the White House, has been converted into 62 rooms that are popular with young people on a limited budget. Some rooms have little refrigerators or microwaves.

  • Basic accommodations in a nice area west of Dupont Circle. Convenient to many good restaurants and to Rock Creek Park. The Bricks-keller Saloon-Bar is the real attraction here.

  • A handsome three-story Victorian rowhouse, the interior finish, including the woodwork and stairway, are original. The rooms are inviting and stylishly furnished.

  • A huge range of meeting rooms and guest rooms with desks and modern communications.
